ANASTASIOS LIVIERATOS TRUST FUND

This benevolent institution was established by the Will and Codicil of Anastasios G. Livieratos (14/2/1911) and operates by its Charter of Management and Administration which was approved by Presidential Decree 128/1981.

Its stated purposes are: preservation and improvement of the real estate property in the village of Agia Thekla that houses the local High School; equipment for the aforementioned; hiring of teaching and service staff to cover the needs that arise; and, financial support of elementary, junior high school and high school students that meet certain criteria - at the discretion of the administrative committee.

A significant asset of the institution is the revenue derived from renting out offices and shops of a large building located on Stadiou 3 & G. Stavrou Street in Athens. Specifically, rent is collected from two shops on the ground floor and 27 offices in the building.
The Trust Fund is administered by a five-member committee composed of The Metropolitan of Cephalonia who is the President, The Prefect of Cephalonia, The District Attorney, The Agia Thekla School Principal and a member of the benefactor's family.

Scholarships are granted every year to elementary, junior high school and high school students as well as to students of colleges and universities. The scholarship recipients are chosen by the administrative committee using criteria outlined in the founding charter of the Trust Fund.

Significant amounts have been spent on construction work, the courtyard, plumbing and heating facilities, and the salaries of a music teacher and a supervisor. In addition, breakfast is provided for the students on a daily basis.

The Metropolitan visits the school on a regular basis and converses with students and parents. All means of communication are used in order to strengthen the religious conscience of the students.

One of the most significant events takes place towards the end of May when a Divine Liturgy is conducted by the Metropolitan for the benefit of all those benefited by the Trust Fund. The event includes a memorial service at the grave of Anastasios Livieratos followed by a banquet at the School building.

The events are attended by all the students as well as locals whom the Metropolitan preaches the virtues which we all must strive for and the gratefulness that we must feel towards God and our Benefactors.
